*Cross Quarter* ~ Beltane ~ Gate of Power ~ This is an Infinitely potent time ~ "in between" ~ a place, also referred to as the "Sweet Spot" - that very thin membrane between *SEED* and *NEW* Life ... between *Spring* Equinox (seed) and *Summer* Solstice (new life). It happens at mid-Taurus, reminding us of the beauty and sustenance Mother Earth has always provided, not just for humans, but for all life on this planet. It is time to tune in, harmonize and synchronize your rhythm with Nature's rhythm. Just like we invite the Invisible Assistance and Ancestors during *Samhain*, the Cross Quarter/Gate of Power which honors Death (in the Life/Death/Life Cycle), we can now invite the Elementals, Nature Spirits, Devas and the Plant Kingdom in to conscious collaboration, honoring the teachings and sacrifices which have been made to assist, feed and support life on this Planet in ways humans alone are not always capable of. *Beltane* marks the beginning of Summer, life is bursting forth, initial work is done and this is a time to celebrate fertility, abundance and our relationship to Mother. It is a time to celebrate all that you have created and contributed to, while mindfully preserving *Life* along the way. Ritual, dance, drumming, toning and/or chanting are always used in celebrations of Earth and her bounty, as is wearing or surrounding your Self with *Green* ~ the color of Life ~ Love ~ and the Heart Chakra. Tune in to abundance and reflect on what is most vital, most important and most valuable to you!

This 6-week period covers the second half of Taurus and ALL of Gemini ~ Earth/Air ~ time to be practical and dedicated while considering the facts and thinking outside the box. The fullness of Spring is in the air and things are starting to ripen and bloom. Mercury goes Direct in Taurus (5/11) and continues its 2-month journey (until 6/10) through the Sign of earthy values and sensible priorities, grounding your Mental Body and sifting through the thoughts, ideas and concepts that have surfaced in your consciousness over the last couple of months. How has your thinking changed (or been altered) in some fundamental and permanent way over the last 1-2 years? Later in this Sacred Season, Mercury will finally move on to Gemini only 2 days prior to the Gemini New Moon when you can anchor your intentions further. And Mars will finally make it to Virgo, where the *sorting and sifting* begins! As you work through the Mars Retro in Leo energy, keep in mind that you are amidst some powerful support from Saturn (3-D) as Mars and Saturn have been working together from July 2008 to July 2010. As Mars finishes up a 2-year Cycle with Saturn in Virgo, they prepare to move on to *Initiate* a NEW 2-year Cycle in Libra (7/31). What you want (Mars) to manifest in 3-D (Saturn) regarding your relationships (Libra) is based on the quality of *healing and fusion* work (Virgo) you've done over the last 2 years. (But more on this one NEXT Season.)

   

May/June presents many issues and choices that will have you focused on your most important priorities, as well as alternatives to how you are living and using your resources. Mercury's idea realm is spending extra time this year in Earth Signs, asking you to make your ideas more tangible and useful. This Sacred Season will also present opportunities to align your mind-body connection at this higher frequency. Taurus/Gemini time is the perfect time of year to tune in to how smart you're being with your physical body and immediate environment. Fundamental changes to your routine are the only way to support the new energy and ideas flowing in at this time. You also want to ground your Self and your work in preparation for expansion and growth coming NEXT Season. Remember: *Rhythm* ~ everything is a *Response* to the last thing ... and *Preparation* for the next thing. Aries energy gets things *Initiated* ~ Taurus energy creates a foundation to allow that *Life* to blossom and flourish ~ Gemini energy comes along and expands the possibilities by asking questions and considering alternatives which may be more effective. This First Quarter of the Year is vital as it is the *seed-planting* time. You cannot be attached but you still have to contribute. And we're back to *Rhythm*.

There is a singular conjunction but it is a BIG one that only happens every 14-years! Jupiter (truth) joins Uranus (liberation) in the sky to bring expansion (Jupiter) and radical change (Uranus) on Social and Collective levels, which naturally affects us as Individuals too. They are both at Zero *Aries* ~ the very Beginning of Everything! This is *clean slate* territory, true Re-Birth to the tune of 12 and 84 years, respectively. This is a potent opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Infinite Possibilities inherent in this type of New Beginning. However, these two also get together 2 more times at the End of the End ~ *Pisces* ~ so that is an indication that we need to Complete (and clear) twice as much as we are Seeding at this time. That said, ANY Conjunction still indicates an *Initiation* and in this case it is the *Initiation* of a 14-year Cycle to radically shift your definitions of Truth & Freedom, permanently altering how you live in fundamental ways. Jupiter will be traversing (back and forth) over Zero-1-2-3 degrees Aries from June 6 - Sept 9, 2010, making this 3-month period extremely useful for "editing" your personal Story. In addition, Uranus will amplify that *power* by spending May 27 - Aug 13, 2010 at *ZERO* Degrees Aries ~ Zero Point of Infinite Possibilities! This Activation will assist *if* you are truly ready to break old patterns and routines which have grown stale, and if you are tired of your old Story. There will be some seemingly "sudden" decisions or choices that will have to be made, but there will also be clear and distinct opportunities for you to begin down a completely New Path. Trust your Intuition ~ Listen to your Heart ~ Allow your Mind Assist but not Lead.

  

There is a lot more involved than just these two getting together. As Jupiter & Uranus move from Pisces to Aries, so too, directly across the sky, Saturn moves from Virgo to Libra and contributes to the current activation. Jupiter (Truth), Saturn (Purpose) and Uranus (Freedom) ... Social Justice ~ Social Structure ~ Collective Liberation ~ by being responsible ~ able to respond ~ committed ~ and awake, we can move in to this new territory confident that all we need, desire and deserve is, and always will be, provided.

We've been working with Uranus Opposite Saturn for the last 2+ years, now Jupiter is getting in on the action. It feels as if Uranus cracked things open and now Jupiter is coming along to restore the Truth at this newly re-calibrated ~ Higher Frequency! (Be grateful!) Some of this may seem familiar in that you will likely swing to extremes before you find the effective middle ground. However, the Signs have changed from Mutable Virgo/Pisces to Cardinal Aries/Libra, bringing in a completely new set of blessings, challenges and lessons. On a Social level, Jupiter thinks big and expands awareness, making you conscious of the story you’re telling with your choices and is generally optimistic. Saturn is more concerned with time and space, physical reality and its inherent limitations. On an Individual level, this is Truth (Jupiter) and Purpose (Saturn) ... what you believe about life in general and how you go about constructing a life that reflects what you believe to be true. These two getting together are going to push you to find the balance between expanding your life and stabilizing your life. Aries suggests you should know who you are and what you are capable of so that you can be a useful participant in the social Libra realm of culture, how we relate and create balance & reciprocity within our relationships. It is time and this is what will be supported going forward.

While Venus (values) moves through Cancer, it will Oppose Pluto (transformation) in Capricorn lending weight to the incoming Eclipses. This is an opportunity to balance and integrate the new priorities you've only recently established. While Pluto is cleaning up the major institutions which support society, Venus in Cancer says we must care about the *family* ~ and yes, on our individual levels for sure ~ but on a collective level, our Global Family has expanded and connected and is in dire need of new structures, stability and order. If that is too overwhelming to consider, I recommend that you keep in mind that you are not obligated to it ALL ~ but you are responsible for contributing YOUR *Piece*. Start on micro-levels, within your own Being, within your own relationships, within your own family, within your own community. Pluto lends intensity to this Activation, and can provoke obsessive-compulsive behavior where your relationships (usually family with Cancer) are concerned but don't allow that to distract you from the potential for a deep cleansing and permanent release of that which no longer serves you. Ultimately, if change needs to happen in your relationships, this combo can be the catalyst toward change. This energy will only seem negative or “bad” if you are unwilling to get to the real root or source of the given conflict. Otherwise, it is like a storm that clears the air and makes everything grow better. Start with YOU.
   
5/23 ~ Venus in Cancer / Pluto Retro in Capricorn ~ Water/Earth

  

As Mars completes its work through Leo, recalibrating 'who you are' and 'what you want', in its final degrees, it will make its one and only contact with Neptune in Aquarius, who is insisting on clarifying the vision for humanity. And while Neptune usually obscures things right in front of you, Mars lends desire and focus to this combo which can make very clear the consequences of past choices, however, channel it for inspiration on how to proceed. Learning from your mistakes is all good, it is only when you remain operating from ego (Leo) or dig your heels in stubbornly demanding your way (Shadow Mars) that you can get hurt. This energy is best for consciously seeking *clarity*, tuning in to your *intuition* (Neptune) and your *instincts* (Mars) will guide you toward the necessary inner or outer compromise. You may have to consider a "willing sacrifice" that will position you for something better or more valuable down the road.

Gemini and Leo are involved so lots of talking, lots of drama, possible romance or, at the very least, some delicious social occasion. As the Sun moves toward the end of its journey through Taurus, it will activate Jupiter toward the end of Pisces, stimulating some interesting energies within. This is your opportunity to cultivate (Taurus) your Identity (Sun) within the context of the larger Story (Jupiter in Pisces). You'll be pulled toward something greater than your Self alone. You may want to participate in a group thing, either for business or pleasure. Jupiter reminds us that we are forever both Student & Teacher, which makes this also an excellent time for workshops and seminars - going to one or presenting one yourself. Enjoy this positive vibration ~ build and expand it.

5/17 ~ Sun in Taurus / Jupiter in Pisces ~ Earth/Water

Mercury, fresh in to its home Sign of Gemini, after an extended journey through Taurus is eager to play with the Jupiter/Uranus in Aries combo. It will lend this energy to you, inspiring you about the many possibilities of this New Beginning we are all amidst at this time. Mercury and Uranus are the Higher (Uranus) and Lower (Mercury) mind and this angle is an opportunity for a breakthrough! You really are in new territory, like it or not, so honor this by changing the way you think, expand your ideas and allow a little latitude for spontaneity, sometimes known as *synchronicity*. Maintain your focus on the big picture and overall patterns which have lead you to this point. This combo can activate the clarity and optimism necessary to initiate a new vision for your Story, for your chosen Path.

This is, generally, an easy energy because both Venus in Cancer and Saturn in Virgo are concerned with what we cultivate and build ~ what we heal and nurture ~ fundamentals are of the utmost importance with this combo. This energy activates a the need to tend to your obligations within the context of relationships. They are not difficult obligations (in this case) but more emphasis is placed on enjoying serving those you love. This is also what I would call the "keep it real" energy, regarding relationships, we get very practical. Saturn doesn't stay in Virgo much longer, so maximize this potential to solidify things wherever needed.

Early May, the Sun moving through Taurus will activate both Mars in Leo and Neptune in Aquarius which will introduce the choices that need to be made now, possibly relating to things you said or did 6-months ago. Squares always bring *tests* of some sort and this one will test the validity of a position you took (Sun/Identity) or a statement you made (Mars/Desire) a little while ago. All the work on 'who you are' and 'what you want' is going to be tested on how practical it is, as well as how it benefits you and serves others. It's time to be honest with your Self (and others) and expand your process to include a broader scope of possibilities. Things may seem to be moving slow, however, decisions still need to be made. Stay grounded, deal with what IS, work with what energy and resources you already have and don't give in to delusions of grandeur, yours or anyone else's.

Then, after the above calibration, Mars and Neptune will get together (6/4) to balance and compromise on what you want personally, as well as globally. And Mercury comes in after that to help you *process* all that comes up. Mercury finishing up its extended stay in Taurus suggests that you may have to get super-practical and while it may not be easy, you are going to have to change the way you have been thinking (probably) for a very long time (which many souls resist). Go with it, use the friction created by this activation to access more clarity and then make the decisions that are most pressing at this time.

Venus, Mercury and then the Sun will enter Gemini and activate Jupiter/Uranus in Pisces, as well as Saturn in Virgo. This engages the Personal, Social and Collective Planets in a way that is pushing you to grow and expand in new ways, then clarify and consolidate in other ways. The initial contacts will probably have you mentally reviewing what is most important and valuable to you in regards to your Truth (Jupiter) and Purpose (Saturn), which will lead to your concept of personal Freedom (Uranus). What is it going to take? What sacrifices need to be made at this time? How does your thinking need to change? How do your values and priorities need to shift? This is a major push to grow out of old thinking and old habits which are holding you back now and are no longer useful but have grown stale. Again, use these challenging energies to fuel your motivation to change your mind, so your reality can follow.

Later, Mercury newly in to Gemini will tag Mars newly in Virgo and activate more deep thought on the necessary steps to changing your mind so your *healing* can follow. This activation is all about *processing* ~ Mercury in Gemini is super-mental, Mars wants what it wants so it causes a little friction in cautious Virgo who is more interested in true *healing* than putting a band-aid on it just so they can get out the door. Dig deep for the answers and commit to the integration that wants to happen, possibly between your mind (Gemini) and your body (Virgo). This is a challenge to make some changes that will facilitate clean, forward movement in the near future.

6/11 ~ Mercury in Gemini / Mars in Virgo ~ Air/Earth

As the Sun finishes up Gemini, it will activate Saturn at the end of Virgo for the 7th and final time in 2+ years. This is strongest for my Gemini/Sag and Virgo/Pisces babies. This is the Final Test on the "healing of the structure" work you've been doing for the last couple of years. Once the structure is stable, you will move on to expand on many, many levels. This is your Identity (Sun) and your 3-D/Reality (Saturn) working it out! Because Virgo was the star of the show, that is what makes it all about the *healing*. Strength, Courage & Wisdom has been restored on one or many levels, though there is still a period of calibration underway. Even though these 4 Signs are mentioned with this activation, understand that whatever the Sun is doing affects all of us and Saturn is a Social Planet, so too it affects fairly large groups of people. For everyone, this activation is still about finishing up the Saturn work in Virgo. How have you outgrown the parameters within which you've been functioning up until now?

6/19 ~ Sun in Gemini / Saturn in Virgo ~ Air/Earth

This last challenge is all the more potent for its timing. On *Summer* Solstice (6/21) as the Sun hits Zero Cancer, it will activate Uranus (6/21) and Jupiter (6/23) back-to-back at Zero Aries. Think in terms of the Sacred Seasons and Natural Time. Connect with the *Maximum* Light available (the longest day). Think of this as a lightning-quick opportunity for you to change (square) your Story (Jupiter) about who you are (Aries) because Jupiter is going to move so quickly through Aries that most of the Solar/Sun/Identity work you will be doing will still be related to Pisces. However, the Sun connecting with Uranus at this time is but an introduction to the incoming *new* 7-year Cycle of Uranus through Aries (for the first time in 84 years). This is a wake-up call for my Cancer/Capricorn and Aries/Libra babies, but like everything else, we are all affected so pay attention and look for opportunities to make the choices that are supported and things will go much smoother. Do not resist the change that is happening within and around you. Instead, pull in to your Center, tune in to your Heart and make the choice that is most grounded in your personal integrity and move forward, once and for all.

Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue ... that counts!

These blessings come when the Elements work together to amplify the power and effectiveness of the Planets as they move through these areas of your chart. Early in the Season, Mercury and Pluto are both Retrograde and both in Earth Signs (Taurus/Capricorn). This supports deep diving, below the surface of your conscious mind, quietly behind the scenes excavating the thoughts, ideas and concepts which beautify and stabilize your life. This is a very personal, internal process, but you can access this energy to both *release* toxic thinking and *embrace* pure intent and conscious decision-making which will be most useful in countering some of the more challenging aspects of the Season. Also, this is the second of three activations between these two because of the Retrograde, so this affords you multiple opportunities to work this particular mojo!

As Sun wraps up Taurus and Mercury finishes its extended there as well, they too will meet up with Saturn in Virgo for the last time. This blessed connection assists in clarifying your core, essential nature, clearing your head and getting you "okay" with the responsibilities you have and the commitments you've made. You can determine the *worth* and *value* of the opportunities being presented at this time. Mercury's activation comes on the same day that Jupiter and Uranus hit Zero Aries together ~ a very potent day indeed! Use some of this Earth energy to get practical about who you are, what you are capable of and how you think, while stabilizing this brand New Beginning Jupiter & Uranus just ignited. Use this energy to *process* the blessings of Saturn through Virgo (Sept 2007-July 2010) and look for ways to integrate all that you've learned in disciplined and useful ~ practical and beautiful ways.

As Venus and the Sun move through Gemini, they will both activate Neptune Retrograde in Aquarius. Yet another major Cycle is coming to a close, Neptune is almost done in Aquarius and will dip in to Pisces in 2011, do some back and forth, before it permanently moves in to Pisces in 2012 to complete its 165-year Cycle ~ MAJOR! So again, take advantage of these blessings when they are happening. Consciously call on them to assist you as you work through more challenging activations, that's what they are for. Venus and Neptune can help you think outside the box where your primary relationships are concerned. There are many other facts this year pushing you to get clear about your priorities and what you value in your partnerships, collaborations and relationships. The Sun and Neptune get together and this blessing allows you to access your intuition easier, which leads to greater understanding of things on a deeper, more spiritual level. Try to use this energy to reflect on where you are and where you want to be, mentally, spiritually and physically. Take time to meditate and be still, quiet and alone.

Later in the Season, as Venus moves through Leo, she will be in blessed union with the Dynamic Duo: Jupiter/Uranus in Aries helping fire things up with a little more Love & Light. Aries is raw ~ Venus in Leo is much more refined ~ *both* are valuable and the blending of the two makes these blessings unstoppable! This activation, albeit fast-moving, is contributing to setting the tone these two are bringing in this year. Use this easy, yet fiery, combo to look at whatever challenges you are facing with the innocence and playfulness of a sharp, clever, alert child. Embrace the newness of your situation. Get creative with the blank canvas before you. Get excited about the possibilities, rather than sad about the loss (or ending) or fear of the unknown.

Like now, Mars leaves Leo for Earthy Virgo and engages Pluto with energy and renewed passion for life. With motives purified, medicines applied and intentions clarified, you can use this activation to move things along in your life and in the world.
